I’m not into vibrant lipsticks – Pink Brandy is an obvious departure from my typical shade range I feel most comfortable wearing.

It’s not sexy, or bold, but it certainly is fun. It will brighten your face and your day like an ice cold mint lemonade. I don’t know about the pink brandy drink, but if you have a hard time visualizing this bright coral without a cocktail metaphor, try imagining the pink penguin martini. Something almost neon, icy, refreshing and joyful.

Pink Brandy is a medium coverage, medium peachy pink-coral with a satin finish and a texture so lightweight it reminds me of a lip tint.

This lipstick is slightly sheer in a sense that no matter how many layers you apply, your natural lip color will always come through. It’s a bright lipstick so this is not a big deal, probably no one will notice it but you.

It leaves your lips with a soft shine. It feels creamy – just enough to give you that moisturizing effect – but not slippery or balmy (remember Soap&Glory?). The pigment is gone pretty quickly, with a subtle tint on the lips that stays for a long time.

Is it for you?

Pink Brandy is cute. Don’t be mistaken though – this is not a lip color that purrs like a tame cat by the fireplace and whispers Shakespeare’s sonnets. This is Cyndi Lauper cute. If you’re fair or pale, this is the most vibrant lipstick for everyday activities you can wear without looking a bit too much.

Pink Brandy is more of a let’s-go-for-a-coffee-with-friends-this-Sunday kind of lipstick, as it’s too bright for a late night out.

For me as a very fair person, Pink Brandy is pretty pink stuff. This shade could probably go as more orangey for someone who has warmer, medium-fair to medium skin tone. Although it’s so intense, I was surprised at how good it looks on my face.
